Who We Are
Dig It! Produce Box is a service that provides pre-ordered boxes of fresh, fruits and vegetables to independent living senior citizen communities. Delivery is completely free. If you are an independent living senior citizen community and are interested in this service, please contact us. What We Do
We make it easy for you to buy local (defined as within 200 miles of Lancaster County) we deliver locally grown, farm-fresh produce to your door every month or twice a month depending on your facilities scheduled delivery times during our Lancaster County growing season. You can save time and money when we bring the mobile farmers’ market to you!
What You Can Get
You can make your own order by choosing from our large variety of fresh fruits and vegetables or order our 2 different pre-built fresh produce variety boxes that change each week. The Boxes are our most popular choices as it eliminates the need for you to “shop” for healthy fruits and vegetables and often provides you with “new” things. We also have a fruit baskets too.
What are in the Boxes?
Each box or bag includes about 12 items of fruits and vegetables, about 12 – 16 pounds worth of produce. The produce depends on what is being grown at our gardens and at other local farms. Produce is primarily locally grown. Each delivery date you can expect to get about 4 types of fruit, herbs, potatoes and/or onions, at least one bunch of greens (kale, collards, lettuce, chard, or mustard), and the remaining 6 items are seasonal vegetables.
The Regular Market Basket
Provides approximately 12-15 varieties (20-25 pounds) of conventional and sustainably grown produce designed to last 2 to 4 people throughout the week. The basket contains a variety of both fruits and vegetables.
The Junior/Senior Market Basket
Provides approximately half the regular market basket designed to accommodate smaller households. The basket still contains 12-15 varieties of produce, but in smaller quantities.
