Youth Programs
“It is not often that youth from diverse backgrounds, get the opportunity to work together. It is even less often that these young people have the chance to contribute to one of the most purposeful jobs in society: growing and distributing high quality food.
There are some things that make The Dig It! Project different from other programs. Many programs give kids something to do during the summer that keeps them busy and off the streets, but they don’t teach them leadership, investment in their community and community service.”
At The Dig It! Project, agriculture, enterprise and service combine to create a rigorous, practical and integrated experience. Through all of our youth programs, people of all ages bridge communities through farming and food and discover their interdependence with each other as well as with those who purchase and receive their produce.
Youth and adults learn that work on the land can be a powerful equalizer, teacher and catalyst for personal, local and global change.
Dig It! Summer Youth Program (DISYP) – All interested young people, crew workers and crew leaders.
LIVE Learning Academic Year Program – The next step for DI SYP alumni, where they can build on their skills learned over the summer.
